ContentTools APIs

The ContentTools API has been deprecated and replaced by the Places API.

These APIs provide endpoints for managing custom content, such as named Places and Sites, that is stored in ContentTools* and used for route planning and navigation.

Define Custom Places

Create, name and manage your own custom Places on the map.

Define Place Sets

Organize saved Places into custom categories so you can easily find, update, geocode and then route to them.

Define Sites

Define a boundary polygon around a Place, marking entry and exit points (gates), along with other valuable information drivers need to avoid getting lost, feeling stressed or wasting time.

Access the Place Editor

Returns a URL that opens a map in the ContentTools user interface where you can view and edit a custom Place.

*You must have an active ContentTools account to use this group of APIs, which is where your custom content is stored and managed. ContentTools is part of the Trimble Maps cloud-based ecosystem of web tools that allows you to create, manage and share custom location and route management content to your licensed Trimble Maps products.
